This is a set of three stacked sake cups created during the transition from the late Edo period to the Meiji era. The design features the traditional motif of a rabbit leaping over waves, which has long been cherished as a symbol of progress and soaring energy. The sight of the rabbit dancing across the water brings a sense of joy and vitality to the observer. On the reverse side, you will find detailed depictions of traditional instruments such as the lute, hand drum, and flute, evoking the elegant atmosphere of historical banquets. Regarding the condition, the set is in average condition consistent with its age, including the painted wave sections. There are no major damages, and it retains the natural characteristics of an antique item from that period.
