JINBAORI Battle coat green armor samurai bushi

This is a jinbaori or military camp surcoat from the early Edo period. It features impressive embroidery on the collar that reflects the pride and aesthetic of the samurai class. The overall design was intended to show authority on the battlefield. In terms of condition, one piece of fabric on the back has become detached. As this is a very old textile, there are multiple insect holes and significant signs of material deterioration and wear throughout the garment. It shows its age as a historical artifact.

The fan-shaped family crest on the back has been removed.
